PCC Summer Outings

Rediscovering Los Angeles together as we spend time outdoors in our beautiful city.

Thank you for joining us for PCC’s Summer Outings that took place throughout the summer. We had groups come together at Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Park in June, L.A. Historic State Park in July and Dockweiler Beach in August. These Summer Outings were meant for all of PCC to enjoy and meet new people, reconnect with friends and rediscover Los Angeles together. We enjoyed getting the chance to fellowship together.

PAST PCC Summer Outings

June 18: Hike

Time: 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

Location: Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area, 4100 S. La Cienega Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90008

Parking fees: $7 cash

Where to meet: Look for the PCC Sign near a children’s play area.

What is provided: Hiking Snacks – Apples, Bananas, Water, Gatorade, Protein Bars, M&Ms; Hiking maps

What to bring: Camp Chairs, Blanket, Optional Picnic Lunch

Activity options: Hike to Baldwin Hills Overlook, Fitness Par Course, Walk around the lake, Get to Know new people, Connect with PCC Community

July 16: Park

Time: 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

Location: Los Angeles State Historic Park, 1315 N Spring Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012

Parking fees: Small paid lot or street parking

Where to meet: We will be there from 10-2 near the Visitor Center, look for the PCC sign

What to bring: Your own Picnic lunch or grab lunch at Cargo Snack Shack at the Park, chair or blanket. Optional – bring a kite and picnic games to share

What is provided: Water, La Croix, Fresh Fruit, Dessert and picnic games

Activity options: 11:00 take a guided tour & photo walk with Alex McKee to see beautiful LA views and sights.
Bring a kite as there is plenty of open spaces to fly kites. Play Spike Ball, Corn Hole, Frisbee games and Hula Hoop

August 13: Beach

Time: 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Join us at Dockweiler Beach near Lifeguard Station 51. Turn right toward fire pits then turn left into parking lot at second stop sign. We have some people already at Dockweiler saving a fire pit so come join us anytime. Look for the PCC signs.

Location: Dockweiler State Beach, 12000 Vista del Mar, Playa del Rey, CA 90293

What to bring: Bring your own dinner and beach chairs/blankets.

What is provided: Some snacks and drinks are provided.

Parking fees: Parking Lot + Street Parking

Activity Options: Fire pit, s’mores, sunset watching and worship singing.
